Politcal Cartoon 4

I. Love. Sarah. Palin. She's just so darn funny. Maybe it's not Sarah Palin that I love, but the Sarah Palin jokes.

I think this photo is representing the Sarah Palin jokes very well. I think this photo tries to say she is a ditsy one. Maybe ADDish, and possibly overexcited about stuff. What I would have loved to see is something about her whereabouts in Alaska. And maybe some moose huntin'.

Since I have been old enough to understand the issues behind cancer, I have heard about what NOT to do, eat or drink, to not get cancer.

There are obvious things that cause do really cause cancer, smoking, to much UV rays, ect. But I have heard about alot of things that one should not do... to dodge cancer. Don't drink diet coke. Thats one that I really remember. Cell phones atennea's cause cancer. Thats my favorite.

Who is the one in charge of deciding these kinds of things? How are these things discovered? Proved? I drink diet coke, and I dont have cancer. I have also had a cellular phone since I was 17,and I still don't have cancer. I wonder who did get cancer from those situations though..

Political Cartoon 2

Who doesn't love Oprah? It appears in the picture that Obama is featured on an Oprah episode. What is funny about this particular cartoon, is that the hype from the croud is not over the president appearing on the show, but for Oprah.
What does Oprah have over Obama? Is it the fact that she can donate her own income to help the poor or a child in need? It may seem like Oprah does more good deeds that Obama, but the fact of the matter is that Obama has not been allowed by the public to shine like Oprah. Every one loves when Oprah donates money to some program that maybe helps kids learn to read of some sort. What about if and when Obama does? The public would focus more on who he did not donate to versus him actually taking the time to donate.

Pre-spring time.

Hello!

Spring is in the air! Can't you SMELL it? FEEL it?? SEE it?? Even though we all can tell that spring is on it's way over, this is a very akward time for minnesota. The weather is still slightly chilly, there is still a little bit of snow placed on the ground, and the leaves are not on the trees quite yet. We see al kinds of spring-like things out, from apparel, to home decor, to out-door activities. But the weather is still cold! I walk around target and see all the spring related merchandise and I just wnt to buy it all! But why do I want to buy it all? I think it's the anticipation that spring just around the corner. When Spring is finally here, all the summer merchandise is going to be out and it's just going to be the same deal!

This is obviously how companies sell there product! Merchandise gets you so excited about the next season that is coming.

Many people would not find this as interesting as I do. Nor I'm sure many people don't notice why they buy. I am in to the fashion merchandising business so it's an art to me. I love observing and learning about this stuff.

Ramen Noodles: America's cheapest meal

In May of 2010, I stepped down from my "Big Girl" Management position to return back to school. Even though this will benefit me in the GREATLY in the future, I am now broke. When I had a "big girl' salary paying job, I was able to eat good foods, buy good groceries, ect.

That is not an option for me anymore.

The past year I have found ways to buy groceries at a cheap price (God Bless Aldi). I have also discovered that packing a lunch for work is much, much cheaper than eating out each time.

To save even more money during the holidays, I decided to stick to a Ramen Noodle dinner. I ate Ramen Noodles for dinner almost every night for two and a half months. After two weeks I started to notice some odd changes in my body. I noticed my jeans became too big, my face and back broke out (pretty nasty...) and I became very sick, tired, and just overall a big pile of...

I spoke to my mother whom is very knowledgeable of health, and she said no doubt, I am allergic to a MAJOR processed chemical in Ramen Noodles, MSG. These symptoms I have been noticing are part of a major allergic reaction. Who knew?

I am slowly recovering, eating good and REAL foods, and keeping MSG to a minimum. I am still sick and lathargic, but I am so much better than I was.

Note to self: NO MORE RAMEN NOODLES

It's half you daily sodium intake in one bowl anyways....

Political Cartoons- Obama gets soiled

I'm not much in to politics. I think politics is full of drama. There is more drama that actual successful political work. In fact- the drama effects how a political decision could be a benefical one.

Even though I am not into politics, I would have to say I am Democratic. I love Obama. I think he can bring some good things to this Country.... If people (mostly republicans) would let him. As you see, this politcal cartoon I posted, Obama is a lovely, happy little flower, and the elefant is on his way to "soil him". Very representitive of my point.

I'm not here trying to say that republicans are the only group that brings in the drama. Democtrates do the same thing. PEOPLE do it. We are all about entertainment.

Green and Yellow

Hello!
So this past sunday was super bowl sunday. the steelers played the packers. Being from Wisconsin, this was a big deal for my home state. I'm not much into football (I just enjoy the beers and good company)but I thought I would tag along to my boyfriends uncle's house for a superbowl party.

I would like to mention, my boyfriends family are Packers fans.

Have you ever seen a bunch of Packer Fan's before?
They are crazy! I have never seen so many people go SO CRAZY over a football team.
Now I'm not your typicall Packer fan (I dont do much football but i still must have someone to root for) I was born in minnesota, so when the vikings play, I root for the Vikings. when the Packers play, I root for the Packers, because I grew up in Wisconsin. THAT IS UN-HEARD OF. In wisconsin you either root for the Packers, or who ever is playing the vikings, vice versa. So. even though I was rooting for the Packers on this super bowl sunday,I was alreay the odd ball out. ESPECIALLY because my boyfriend told his whole family that I was only a vikings fan.

After watching 15 CRAZY Packer fan's, and being mildly harrassed for being a Viking and Packers fan, (the Vikings were not even playing) I thought about just staying a Vikings fan.

But then I thought, it's just football people! If I wanna root for both teams I will! And if I dont want to be super crazy over the Packer's then I won't!

You know how they say we are going to have to listen to annoying Packer fan's for a year... it's true.

Online Classes

Hello! good thursday evening! (LATE evening...)

Well this semester I decided to take 2 of my classes online. I thought that taking a couple online courses would make it easier for me to work full time and complete assigments (and maybe have some type of a life).
Last semester I had live classes tuesdays and thursdays, from 10am to 7:30pm! the other five days of the week I would work. THAT means no.days.off. I would have one day off a month, and it would only be because school would be closed for some type of holiday. So you maybe see my thought process in signing up for 2 online classes?

I have come to realize that an online class is twice the work. Why? well because you dont have actual class time. So, there's me, registering for classes thinking that im going to have so much more time to do homework and be able to easily work full time, and only physically be at school for three hours tuesdays and thursdays. (math just does not seem like a good online class...). YES. I have more availability for work, but I really don't have anymore time than I though I would...

Online classes= SO MUCH HOMEWORK
My biggest challenge is knowing everything that I need to do in a week. It is very hard to prioritize what is important to do first, and then next, and on what days, but oh, what about that assignment!

Despite all of the challenges of having two online classes, I must say I thourouly enjoy them. I enjoy completing my courses online. Sure, I have to try and work fourty hours a week, and sure, I have SO MUCH HOMEWORK..... but at least I enjoy completing it :)

I will definatly be doing more classes online
Just maybe not two at a time :)

Blog on Ted Williams meets his mom.

Truely, a touching video. My favorite part of the video is how excited Ted is just to talk to his mother. He can't stop talking,  like he is trying to catch up on the decades of missed conversations with her. I also love her reaction. As soon as Ted said "Hi Momma!" she cries in her hands. Even after many years, she knew it was her son! She has not seen him since he was a child, but she still knew at the first sound of his voice, that was her son.

Speaking of his voice....
Thats how this video even came about. "The Man with The Golden Voice" became a internet hit with some 12 million views?!? Ted Williams became an internet sensation! There are so many video's posted from his "Golden Voice" discovery, to his rehabilitation converstaion with Dr. Phil, to this very meeting with his mother. The video that started it all says it, however. the first video with Ted williams as a homeless man. In the video you see him standing on the side of the road with, what you would think, to be your "standard" homeless man sign. This Sign had something much more than your typlical "any spare change" sign. In fact, I doubt it said anything about wanting money, food, or booze for that matter. All ted asked for on this sign was to take the time to listen to his golden voice from God.

This subject also made me stop to think, when you walk by anyone homeless, do you read the sign they are holding? I usually just assume they all generally say the same thing. Walking downtown minneapolis, take a quick peek at those cardboard memo's. Maybe we will find another internet sensation!
